As a result of the one-child policy, there are far more men than women in China, and the search for love has become an intense competition with many losers.
Hao is a charismatic but controversial dating coach in Chongqing. His clients are men in their 20s and 30s who have never had a girlfriend before. He promises them that they can succeed if they follow his techniques. Three of the men enroll in a week-long course where they are thrown into spontaneous encounters on the street, take part in photoshoots, and learn manipulative messaging strategies. This documentary offers a fascinating portrait of the state of love in China in 2025.
