Cadejo Blanco
A young woman is drawn deeper and deeper into a criminal gang when she tries to find out what happened to her missing sister.
Sarita lives with her grandmother and sister Bea in Guatemala City. Bea has a tendency to date criminal men, and when she one day disappears, Sarita fears the worst. To find her sister she travels to the coastal town Puerto Barrios to infiltrate a gang Bea’s ex boyfriend is part of.
Sarita risks her life to join the gang, and develops a close friendship with Bea’s criminal ex. In her search for answers to what happened to her sister, she understands that the truth is more complicated than she could have ever imagined.
Director
Justin Lerner is an American filmmaker. He graduated with his bachelor degree in theater from Cornell University, and has later taken a Master of Fine Arts degree at UCLA. He has made three feature films. His debut feature Girlfriend which premiered at Toronto Film Festival in 2010, The Automatic Hate (2015) and Cadejo Blanco (2021) which was made in Guatemala where he lives and teaches film.
