A young woman’s fierce need to be heard.

Camila Comes Out Tonight, Nasjonalmuseet, 15. NOV kl. 18.00: If you have a festival pass you can reserve your ticket for this screening by following this link. Remember to bring a physical or digital festival pass to the screening.

When her grandmother becomes seriously ill, Camila is forced to move to Buenos Aires and leave behind her friends. The change from a liberal public high school for a traditional private institution is not welcomed by Camila. She is opinionated, stubborn and fiercely challenges the status quo. While coping with turbulence proper of adolescence, she is also entangled in a complicated relationship with her classmate Clara, who has a secret. This is a film about a young woman’s fierce need to be heard, and regain agency over her body, in an environment that constantly overlooks her.

The story is told with warmth and care for the characters, you can especially notice the good chemistry between the actors. Cinematographically, it is a warm and mellow film with beautiful shots romanticizing small moments in daily life.
