1978
An intense and well-acted horror movie set in one of the darkest periods in Argentine history, with an unexpected, supernatural twist.
To silence its critics and ensure social peace during the 1978 FIFA World Cup, the military junta in Argentina used force.
The events in 1978 take place during the world championship final between Argentina and the Netherlands. Torturers from the Argentinian secret police violently break into a house and kidnap a group of young people to take them to a clandestine detention center. What starts as brutal torture turns into an even more macabre seance when it turns out that the wrong people have been kidnapped.
The film premiered at the genre film festival Sitges Film Festival in October, where it was nominated in the “Best Midnight X-Treme Movie” category.
