Little Forest
A young woman gets tired of life in the big city and moves back to the village she grew up in, in this lovely South Korean film adaptation of the manga hit by the same name.
After having failed an important exam, Hye-won decides to visit the farming village she grew up in. What was originally planned to be a short visit, turns into a year-long stay, and we see Hye-won grow, harvest and make beautiful dishes based on seasonal produce. All the while she reflecs on the relationships she has to the people in her life.
Little Forest is an unusually heartwarming and cosy film about food, self-discovery, relations and the wish to lead a simple life.
«Everybody needs a film like Little Forest once in a while. It soothes and calms. It washes over you with an easy charm.»
