My Stolen Planet
An intimate family portrait of life in Iran, before and after the 1979 revolution. The documentary won the main prize at this year's festival in Thessaloniki.
Farah was born during the revolution, and through this beautiful documentary, she tells a story shaped by the contrasts between the freedom inside her home and the oppression outside it. Through archival footage from her own life and the lives of people she doesn’t know, she tells both her own story and the stories of many fates from her homeland. The film premiered at the Berlin Film Festival earlier this year.
