When Fritz, a young East German Stasi officer, arrives in Cuba for a ceremonial handover of a gift from Fidel Castro, he soon discovers unexpected dangers.

What is meant to be a celebration quickly turns into something else when Fritz is given a far more critical mission. He must prevent a planned assassination of Fidel Castro, orchestrated by the CIA. The task becomes even more complicated when he develops feelings for the Cuban cook Lola. The result is a playful spy comedy and farce, offering an entertaining depiction of Cold War geopolitics.
