Mistura

When Norma, an upper-class woman in Lima, is confronted with her own prejudices, she embarks on a culinary journey to break free from old patterns in this life-affirming and moving drama.

In 1960s Lima, middle-aged Norma lives a wealthy but rather empty life. Her daily life consists mainly of parties and shopping with other women married to Peru's richest men. Everything is turned upside down when she discovers her husband's infidelity, and Norma must figure out what she wants to do with the rest of her life. With the help of her faithful butler Oscar (played by music icon Cesar Ballumbrosio) and against the backdrop of a beautifully photographed and lively 1960s Lima, we see her undergo an awakening not unlike that of Pia Tjelta's character in the Norwegian series Lykkeland.

The conversation will address the challenges faced by the Afro-Peruvian community, including discrimination and inequality, as well as the community’s remarkable resilience and cultural contributions to Peru.
