Ky Nam Inn

This atmospheric period drama undoubtedly bears a resemblence with Wong Kar-wai's In the Mood for Love.

We meet the young translator Khang, who is working on a translation of The Little Prince, and he moves in as a tenant with the widow Ky Nam (masterfully played by Do Thi Hai Yen, known from Tran Anh Hung's The Vertical Ray of the Sun) in Saigon in 1985. As the tenant and the hostess grow closer, the neighbors start gossiping. At the same time, the underlying tensions in post-war Vietnam begin to surface.
