A MID 90s-esque coming-of-age story about teenagers searching for the meaning of life – and answers about their absent fathers.
From bustling markets and harbours to quiet suburban life, Kojo and Tony lead very different lives in Ghana and Quebec, respectively. Yet both are living with a void left by the absence of a father figure. A shipwrecked cargo vessel and a mother tricked by an online scam become the catalysts that intertwine the two teenagers’ lives. Director Jérémy Comte, who was nominated for an Academy Award for the short film Fauve in 2019, comes from the skateboarding scene – and his feature debut has a striking slacker sensibility of the very best kind.
