Shahrbanoo Sadat's debut feature, WOLF AND SHEEP, is a beautiful coming-of-age story set in an Afghan village.
Eleven-year-olds Sediqa and Qodrat attempt to escape the rumor mill in their respective villages. And even though boys and girls are not supposed to play together, they develop a secret friendship in the isolated mountains. In Wolf and Sheep, director Shahrbanoo Sadat draws on her own experiences to tell a story that offers unique insight into communities in the Afghan countryside. The film won the main prize in the Directors' Fortnight section at Cannes in 2016.
