Opening Film

The Silver Bear winner from this year’s Berlinale, THE BLUE TRAIL, opens the 35th edition of Films from the South.

Gabriel Mascaro’s new film is a poetic, entertaining, and visually striking story about aging, freedom, and resilience. It also challenges how society treats its oldest citizens.

Director Gabriel Mascaro will be present to introduce the film.

Before the screening, we’ll get a musical preview from the concert An Ode to the Missing, featuring Bugge Wesseltoft (piano), Rodolfo Stroeter (bass), and vocalist Marlui Miranda.

After the film, we invite everyone to a Brazilian afterparty at Kunstnernes Hus, with a concert by a quartet led by Bruna Santana.
