This documentary takes us to Kenya and various communities practicing female circumcision. Surprisingly enough the tradition is also strongly entrenched among some women, especially the elderly. We meet young girls trying to resist circumcision, but at the same time wanting to be loyal to their parents and culture. Despite its brutal theme the film has an optimistic tone, treating all its protagonists with empathy and understanding. A strong and moving film probing the depths of the discussions and problems related to circumcision.
