Nameless Gangster: Rules of the Time
An intense gangster drama set in 1980s and 1990s Busan, South Korea.
Reality-based gangster drama about a customs officer who falls into South Korea's criminal underworld. During a tough day on the job at customs, Choi Ik-hyun stumbles upon 10 kg of heroin. Instead of handing it in, he decides to sell it. He teams up with a distant relative who is already well-established in the criminal environment.
We follow Choi Ik-hyun's personal journey from corrupt petty criminal to powerful gang boss in the 80s and 90s. When the police corner him, his loyalty to his partner is tested. The black humor in the film is refreshing and highlights the corrupt sides of South Korean society in an entertaining way.
