A Taste of Sky
Save the date for our traditional free screening at Vippa on the first weekend of the festival. The documentary A Taste of Sky follows the Danish chef Claus Meyer from the famous restaurant NOMA as he starts a chef school for underprivileged youth in La Paz, Bolivia. We follow Maria, Kenzo and other of his students as they gain a renewed pride of the culinary traditions of their own country. The film also traces Meyer's attempt to start his own restaurant, Gustu, in La Paz.
Along with the screening you may also want to try a meal from one of the any restaurants at Vippa, which has become an important culinary meeting point in Oslo. The screening is free of charge.
Michael Lei is a director and photographer. He was born in China, but grew up in the U.S. Lei now divides his time between Shanghai and New York. A Taste of Sky has been screened at prestigious festivals such as CPH DOX in Copenhagen and Tribeca in New York.
