It's spring time in Mongolia. When baby camel Botok is born, he is brusquely rejected by his mother. Despite the efforts of the family of nomadic shepherds, it seems hopeless to reunite the two camels. Finally, the nomads must resort to an ancient magical tradition to awaken the emotions in the camel mother's heart.

The Story of the Weeping Camel was a surprising success when it came out in 2003. It offers an intimate portrait of both animals and humans and unforgettable scenes, like when the mother finally takes in her calf, after shedding real camel tears.
