Daughter of Rage
Maria and her mother Lilibeth live in the slum trying to live off things they find at the landfill when they get separated.
In this movie we meet Maria and her mother Lilith that live together near Nicaragoa’s biggest landfill. Here they survive by collecting metal scraps and breeding their dogs to sell their puppies. Although you see they are clearly struggling in this living situation, their relationship is still strong and loving.
At the start of the movie we see Maria and a lot of other children at the landfill with a lot of other children, collecting trash. She also finds some food for her dogs, but as the food is rotten the puppies die before they can be sold.
This causes her mother more financial trouble and she is forced to leave Maria with some men that run a sweatshop. Here she meets the boy Tadeo and they form a bond, before she runs away in search of her mother.
