Frida - Still Life
Frida Kahlo lies on her deathbed and reflects on her life in this Mexican classic from 1983.
It is July 13, 1954. The coffin containing Frida Kahlo's body is taken to the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City, where it is draped with the communist flag by Diego Rivera. Filmmaker Paul Leduc's second feature film, Frida - Still Life, is an unconventional biopic. It presents a fragmented narrative that reflects on the life of the world-renowned artist through flashbacks to moments with Rivera, Leon Trotsky, her artwork, and her physical suffering.
