My Favourite Cake
Mahin is 70 years old, single, and determined to revive her love life. A chance encounter with a man leads to an unforgettable evening.
Although Mahin is in her 70s, she cares little about what is expected of a woman her age. She sleeps until noon and starts the day with tea and cigarettes. However, she also has to accept the fact that she lives in a body that might not fully match how she feels. She lives in a country that is no longer as free as it once was. When she meets the elderly taxi driver, Faramarz, sparks immediately fly between them.
My Favourite Cake premiered at the Berlin Film Festival where it won two awards.
«There is something quietly magnificent in it. Moments like these in life are poignantly brief – but many never have them at all. It’s a lovely film.»
