A divided Brazil on the brink of collapse ahead of the 2022 presidential election. How has it gone so far?

Lula’s victory in the 2022 Brazilian presidential election triggered many of the same mechanisms as Joe Biden’s victory in the United States in 2020. While the left celebrated the win, accusations of election fraud emerged from the far right, deepening divisions and eventually leading to the shocking storming of Congress and the Supreme Court. The film shows how all this could happen, through glimpses of demonstrations, revival meetings in evangelical churches, and conversations between people on both sides of the political spectrum. Throughout, Bolsonaro’s deliberate disinformation looms over a country on the brink of collapse.
