Two young brothers travel to the big city of Lagos with their deceased father in a magical realist tale about a nation’s struggle for democracy and freedom.
It is Nigeria in 1993, and the country is heading into its first democratic election — but it ends in tragedy. Fola, the father of two young boys, was on the front lines fighting for his country’s freedom, but paid for it with his life. Through the powerful and emotional story told in this film, we gain insight into Fola’s life and how he chooses to share it with his sons. The result is an intimate and heartbreaking story about love, loss, and the fight for freedom.
