In Verbier, in the heart of the Swiss Alps, 35-year-old Luz works without a residence permit as a housekeeper in luxury chalets occupied by wealthy international guests. Far from her daughter, who has remained in Manila, she lives a precarious life marked by long working days, solidarity within the community and the fear of being reported.

When her ex-husband threatens to seek custody of their daughter, Luz promises to return to the Philippines for her birthday. But to keep her promise, she must quickly raise a substantial amount of money – at the risk of betraying her community and crossing her own moral boundaries.
