A story about holding on to tradition while dreaming of a different life.
Clara is training to become a midwife in the Bolivian mountains, where she learns traditional birthing songs passed down through generations. But she dreams of becoming a singer in the city and faces a difficult choice: Should she stay and carry on the traditions, or leave the village to build a life of her own?
The Condor Daughter is Bolivia’s entry for Best International Feature Film at the 99th Academy Awards, and is a beautiful and poignant film about the tension between cultural heritage and personal dreams.
