Arsène Lupin III: Gentleman, charmer – and the best thief in the world, according to several police departments. Lupin is chasing a mysterious journal that allegedly contains traces of a fantastic force. In the right hands, this force could rule the world.
In his search for the journal he befriends Laetitia, a young girl on a mission to steal the same journal for her grandfather. His mysterious organization also want to get their hands on the secret power of the journal. Together, Lupin and Laetitia must undertake a dangerous and thrilling journey. The future of the world is at stake, and nothing is quite what it seems.
Takashi Yamazaki has written and directed this firework of an animated film. Humour and tension are never far off, and we meet many fun and interesting characters along the way. Made in 3D, the film is visually magnificent: It was nominated for awards at Annecy and Sitges Film Festivals, and won the award for Best animation at the Japanese Academy Awards.
