Mami Wata
A beautiful artwork about the modern tale of Mami Wata. Mama Efe acts as the mediary between the people of Iyi and the powerful water deity, Mami Wata. When a young boy is lost to a virus, it leads to unrest among the villagers.
In the small coastal village of Lyi, we meet Mama Efe, a medium between the village inhabitants and the powerful and protective water deity, Mami Wata. When a young boy dies from a virus that could have been saved through modern medicine, the villagers are upset that Mama Efe couldn't save the boy. A young man comes forward to support Efe, leading to a dangerous conflict that endangers the village. A modern fable about folk belief standing steadfast in the local community in the face of the modern world.
