Latin-American evening and program release

Warming up to this year’s festival we are offering food, film, and music at Vippa 28. OKT.

Entrance is free, and food from all around the world is available for sale at Vippas food stalls. We will release the festival program for this year’s Films from the South, and invite audiences on a culinary journey through one of this year’s films: DIANA KENNEDY: NOTHING FANCY. After the screening, the night continues with a DJ and good atmosphere.

Time: Friday 28. OKT. The film starts at 19:00

About the film:

Join us for a wonderful journey in the art of cooking, with Diana Kennedy in the driver's seat.

Author and food writer Diana Kennedy died this summer at 99 years old, and despite her British origin, many will argue that she passed away as a Mexican at heart. She moved to Mexico in the 1960s where she eagerly began her life-long project exploring the Mexican food culture. In 1981 she received the prestigious award The Mexican Order of the Aztec Eagle. When we meet her in the documentary, she is 97 years old, and has published no less than 17 cookbooks on the subject. We join her on a fabulous journey into a world where her love for the food culture trumps anything else in life.
