Meet Khawla and Aisha, who works as plumbers in Jordan – one of the driest countries on earth. Khawla is the founder of an organization for female plumbers in a male-dominated profession, helping them with training and getting work as a way to gain independence. Aisha chose to become a plumber after her husband passed away, and she became the sole provider for her three grown children. We soon learn that Khawla is facing dire accusations about corruption, and Aisha has a choice to make – will she help Khawla out, or save herself? Waterproof is a heartwarming and amusing documentary about the lives of Jordan’s first female plumbers, and a strong story of the battle of gaining autonomy over your life.
