The Throne
In this historical drama set in 18th-century Korea, King Yeongjo is forced to take drastic measures after his son is accused of treason. Song Kang-ho, known from PARASITE, plays the lead role.
This court drama is based on the true story of King Yeongjo. As the son of one of the previous king's concubines, Yeongjo suffered from an inferiority complex. As a result, he strove for perfection in everything he did. This is an intense and well-acted period drama with two fantastic performances at its core.
