This observational documentary portrays the lives of the miners and their families. With unique access over several months, director Natalia Koniarz powerfully captures their daily existence, as they are slowly poisoned in order to survive and supply the technology we in the West so readily enjoy. Without voiceover or interviews, the film becomes an impressive portrait of the mountain today – and of its past, which helped form the very foundations of global capitalism.
