Yanuni
A gripping and action-packed documentary about climate activist Juma's tireless fight for the Amazon.
Yanuni is a shocking and inspiring film about the price of environmental activism. Rarely has a documentary from the Amazon been so action-packed and compelling, while also being visually striking and cinematically impressive. We are flies on the wall in climate activist and indigenous leader Juma's tireless fight for the rainforest. We experience daily life in Juma's beautiful home, but also when she receives death threats and has to go into hiding in the city. We also meet Juma's husband, Hugo, who leads an armed group under IBAMA, Brazil's environmental protection agency, in an intense helicopter hunt for the rainforest's worst environmental offenders.
